how we are undone in Jesus

Peter Bancroft

November 3, 2019

  • Isaiah 41: 17-29. The Lord is doing a new thing this season.

  • People hold onto idols, even in 2020. A hardened heart or half doctrine are both forms of idols in our hearts.

  • Revelation 22:17-21. Believing in false doctrine or having faith without works are also idols.

  • James 2:17-26, James 4:7, and 17. We need to humble ourselves before the Lord and He will be the one to lift us up. Our works and obeying Him are what undo us. They're what creates a humble heart within us. When it's His Will and not our own.

  • Matthew 28:18-20. If we are followers of Christ, we would follow him. We would be doing what He did, and even greater.

  • Philippians 2:6 and 9. Jesus humbled Himself in obedience to God and died a criminal's death on the cross. Therefore God elevated Him to the highest honor and gave Him the name above all other names. That at the name of Jesus every knee shall bow and every tongue confess that Jesus is Lord.

  • We need to be right with the Lord now and not wait. There is never a better time to get right with God than right now.

  • Matthew 5:3-5. When we are walking in humility we will be lifted high.

  • John 3:5 says you must be born again of water and spirit to inherit the Kingdom of God. Baptism in Jesus' name is a humbling work of obedience preceded by faith.

  • 1 Samuel 15:23. Rebellion is as sinful as witchcraft and stubbornness as bad as worshipping idols.

  • 2 Chronicles 7:14, 22.

  • Luke 3:21. We will be forgiven and receive the Holy Spirit just like when the Heavens were open at Jesus' baptism.

  • Psalm 22-24. Breakthrough!

  • Repenting, being baptized in the name of Jesus' for the remission of sins, and receiving the baptism of the Holy Spirit all take humility.

  • Eternal blessings come from daily sacrifices.

  • Matthew 28:19. We will never tire of teaching new disciples.

  • Let's humble ourselves and bow before the Lord.
