Born Again by the Blood of the Lamb

Pastor. Kyle | April 7th 2019

      Introduction:

  • God is interested in showing how he did all the work for us to be born again. We just need to come into agreement with what He has already done.

  • Amos 3:7 records that God would do nothing without first revealing it first to His servants the Prophets.

  • There are Watchman that God has positioned so that God will show His prophets what He will do before He does it.

  • God has carefully and strategically planned events here on Earth.

  • The Passover celebration points to being born-again

  • Exodus 12:1-2. He is saying this to Aaron and Moses as they're under bondage in Egypt. Egypt is a symbol of being a slave to sin. God doesn't want His people to be under bondage but wants them to be free

First Point of the Passover Celebration: Repentance
  • Leaving Egypt represents walking away from their bondage. God had it all figured out and knew how He was going to get to them to the Promised Land.

  • First, they had to have faith and to believe the Word of God that was coming through Moses as a prophetic word.

  • Walking away from a life of sin and towards a life with their Saviour. They were told to leave on Passover. Taking a lamb and draining its blood, putting it the doorposts to their homes.

  • God wants to cover every access point in our lives.

  • For those who didn't obey the commands of the Lord, there was something else welcomed to enter their homes. The Angel of the Lord was commanded to deal with sin in a certain way.

  • Being the Firstborn was the child who had the inheritance. Who took care of the Father's inheritance. Even the firstborn animals were killed at this time.

  • Jesus is our Firstborn and first fruits.

  • God wants to set apart the firsts.

  • The Hebrews obeyed the Word of the Lord to cover their doorposts with lamb blood but the Egyptians didn't.

  • Egypt is a foreshadowing of the end times. God pours His wrath not upon people but sin. We weren't intended for His wrath.

  • Repentance was key to having the angel of Death Passover their home.

Second Point: Have Your Sins Washed away at the Water Grave

  • Passover is celebrated for an entire week. Starting with the first day, then the feast of unleavened bread. The unleavened bread took place when they came to the red sea and the sea opened up.

  • God did all the work to open up the sea, deal with their sin, but they still needed to walk through the sea.

  • The Lord washed away the sins of Israel, first, it was repentance, obeying the Word of the Lord, and walking away from their sin.
  • 1 Corinthians 10:2 says they were all baptized into Moses in the cloud and in the sea.
  • God took care of the Israelites, what should have been a grave for them, was a grave for Egypt.
  • Just like us, we should have died because of our sin but God delivers us. We are freed from Egypt, from sin daily.
  • It starts with repentance, takes Faith to repent. It takes faith to leave Egypt and walk into salvation. To lose our identity with our bondage. The Israelites were walking into the Promise Land but even they wanted to go back.
  • The Lord wants to deliver us mentally and physically in Egypt.
  • After the Israelites reach the other side, they praise the Lord and celebrate. They washed the Egyptians swept away. What a privilege it is to watch our sins be washed away and every bondage took away. We no longer need to allow the princes to control our lives. The enemy doesn't have to have the same hold on us.
  • When one sinner repents the Angels rejoice! The Israelites gave the Lord their first fruits and danced before Him
  • Israelites arrive at Mount Sinai, the Lord wants to deliver us of Egypt mindsets. We can leave Egypt but the Lord wants to take Egypt out of us. This is what happened at Mount Sinai with the Israelites. They went back to worshipping a false god just 40 some days after being delivered from Egypt
  • Does this happen to you? This is the human condition. God is very interested in renewing our minds and souls. At that time the Lord could only give them the Law.

The Third: Receive the Spirit of the Law

  • They were given the Spirit of the Law back then, Pentecost. This is different tan what we have today. We no longer receive the Spirit of the Law. However, we use to live under the Law. It's like we've lived there ourselves.

  • We do things out of rules and regulations. Wondering why, as there seemed to be no heart behind it. The law was intended to be a schoolmaster that would show the Children of God that they have problems. To show us that we have issues.

  • 2 Corinthians 3:4-6. We're under a new covenant, not of one of the Law but of the spirit. The Spirit of God gives Life but the Law gives death.

  • When the Israelites worshipped the golden calf, the Levites were set apart. The Levites were like a church within a church and didn't take part. There were 3000 people who weren't repenting and died on the first Pentecost. If we're under the Law, our penalty is death.

  • Jesus came to fill up the New Covenant.

  • Let's put all these three points together and look at Acts 2:38. The first message the Church preached. Peter proclaims the Gospel to a crowd who just watched the brutal crucifixion of Jesus. The crowd didn't know what to make of Him. they thought He was either a lunatic, a liar, or whom He says He is.

  • Everything Jesus said would happen, did. Even 50 days later on Pentecost

  • The 120 are celebrating all that God has done in the Upper Room. While they were together the spirit of the Living God comes in like a mighty wind. Tongues of fires appear on their heads and they received His Spirit.

  • They had seen this Spirit operate through others, but now it was inside of them. They all received a new tongue and this disrupted the spirit and physical.

  • Acts 2:36 "Therefore let all Israel be assured of this: God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Messiah." and they were cut to the heart. Jesus was the perfect lamb and we killed Him.

  • They were given the opportunity to repent. How will people know unless we tell them?

  • Acts 2:38 Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. 39 The promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off—for all whom the Lord our God will call.”

  • When the Word of God is spoken there is an opportunity for people to operate in Faith.

  • Not only do you have to repent but obey Him and be baptized in the name of Jesus.

  • Col 2:9 and Galatians 3:26-27

  • It was Gods work parting the Red sea, the Israelites walked through it. Walking into the watery grave of Baptism in the name of Jesus is us agreeing with God's work. We're not saved by our works but by coming into agreement with His.

  •  Then we are to be filled by the Holy Spirit just like the 120 in the upper room. There was a death in the 1st Pentecost of 3000 and life in the Pentecost following Jesus' death burial and resurrection of 3000 souls baptized.

  • There were many Passover lambs but only one that washes away all of our sins.

  • Jesus is the name that points to the I AM, the invisible God in flesh.

  • We need to come into agreement with what was done on the cross and be born again by water and Spirit. By Baptism in Jesus' name and being filled up with the Holy Ghost.

  • Romans 6:1-10. Baptism is more than a symbol, it's a Spiritual place where something does happen. That person has repented and being buried and resurrected with Christ. This is where His blood is applied to our lives and our old lives die and a new life begins.

  • Acts 22:1-16. Paul realizes the Jesus is the invisible God. Ananias prophesy that Paul will be a witness. Saying arise and do not wait, be baptized, and call upon His name. aul

  • Paul was the one to write Romans, Galatians 3:27, and Colossians 2:9. where were Paul's sins washed away according to scripture? His baptism.

  • The thief on the cross was still in the Old covenant, the World had not been turned to the New covenant. Jesus had not yet died and the new church had not begun yet.

  • Don't take verses for your own use, look at the context. There are many examples I in the Word that says to baptize in Jesus name and to be filled up with the Holy Ghost.

  • Hebrews 9:13-14. Romans all the way to Romans was written to the Church. For if the blood of bulls and goats and the ashes of a heifer, sprinkling the unclean, sanctifies for the purifying of the flesh, 14how much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without spot to God, cleanse your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?

  • Our works stink, the only work that makes us pure is God's

  • Revelation 1:5. Where does the Blood of Jesus touch you and where did you take on the name of Jesus?

  • We overcome by the Blood of the Lamb and the word of our testimony

  • His Blood says you're chosen, adopted, anointed, loved, and more.
